Clippers for a body clip

While I’ve never attempted to body clip with my Chromados, I love them for smaller jobs. They are also pretty quiet and I find that horses tolerate them better for touchy areas, including ears. I no longer clip the insides of ears, but when I did, these would often be tolerated when others would not. Maybe there’s also less vibration? They are surprisingly powerful.

Also, going back to my above post, they have been just fine with my collection of non-Wahl products. I recall something about not using sprays with them, and I have honored that.

I clip horses for multiple clients and always use the Andis 2 speeds. Most clients do not have their horses clean enough to not clog the blades and the price point on Lister Star Clipper blades makes it not worth it. I can just swap blades on the Andis.

I’m assuming the Lister Star clippers would probably be faster, but not sure how much faster they would be when doing legs or the face as precision becomes more important.

I generally don’t clip heads and legs. I do clean them up a bit, and I can still do that with the big clippers or switch to my smaller plug in ones.

The Andis 2 speed is corded though, so if I am going to spend the cash and switch from the Lister Stars, I’d like to go cordless.

Ok DMK, you’ve convinced me. I just ordered the same pair of clippers and will see if they oust my favorite Double K belt mounts….

What? You don’t want to try another pair of andis?:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I’ll let my graveyard full of dead Andis clippers answer that for me… :skull_and_crossbones: :skull_and_crossbones: :skull_and_crossbones:

I have some Andis cordless, I swear they are AG5 or AGC+ but I can’t find them, so they may have been discontinued? But I do have corded AGCs as well. They are terrific, cut through dirty donkey hair like nothing.

Great, now I have something to lust after. I am pretty sure I need the limited edition flower pattern clippers. Can these be used with a wider blade? I have some big body clippers, but just do a trace clip on my 17H warmblood who does not grow a ton of coat. So the hair is easy to clip, but there is substantial acreage. She was quite pissed about having the big clippers near her right flank yesterday, so I finished off with my Andis, but running one pair and cordless sounds great.

Welcome to the Heiniger side of life - where clipping is not nearly so nasty

If my Saphirs ever die beyond repair (new drive and new charger last year after probably 15 years or clipping cows and horses) they’ll be replaced with whatever Heiniger has to offer that’s basically the same but better.

Depends on whether you go for the large body clippers (Xplorer) or the compact “pet” clippers (Opal or Saphir) but neither are heavy. The large ones are a bit heavier than Joe Clipmaster, but the convenience of the battery and not getting hair blown all over the place outweighs (lol) the tiny bit of extra weight.

Editing to add - YES, they are super easy to clean. Pop the blades off, brush out the hair - you’re done. FWIW, they are also easy to work on if you ever get to the point of needing to replace parts. I did my drive last year after about 15 years of heavy use. Ordered the part online, watched some YouTube and did it myself pretty easily.

T-84s or 10W work perfectly on the Saphir - I’d assume same for the Opal.

Thanks! It’s probably a good time of year to sell of my body clippers which would offset the cost. If anyone wants some big honkin’ Osters send me a message. I’ll even throw in an old pair of A-5’s.

I’m kind of hoping that Heiniger clippers will be included in a Black Friday sale somewhere.
