Colorado Horse Park closing and cancelling all 2020 shows?

The temp barns actually, believe it or not, have excellent lighting. I always get excited when I get assigned horses in the temp barns  I can usually shut off my head light. Though the stalls are positioned where northern wind blows through so they’re chillier, especially the spring and fall circuits. The boarding barns up on the hill were always a treat and we usually saved those horses for the end of the night, when we were fed up and frozen  It’s warm in there and excellent light.

Because if the barns had good lighting, someone would leave those lights on all night and the horses would not rest as well. Besides the electric bill. The barns, even the permanents, have always had that poor lighting. I used to carry a clip on lamp for braiding my own horse, before headlamps. I can see where a headlamp would unnerve some horses.

The nice Eq Centers have been criticized for their all night lighting, per horses needing to sleep.

So the CHJA show schedule is out, but no CHP rated shows on them at all - according to their website, no rated shows in CO for 2020 thus far. I hope we know what the new horse park schedule will be sooner than later!

Langer is running some HJ shows, according to their website.

I don’t see any in Colorado? The front page lists what I think is last year’s spring and summer series, but lists no year in their dates, and when you open the full list that shows 2020 shows there are none in Colorado. It’s hard to read much in to it since the stories on the front page are from 2016 and 2017.

Good point. Didn’t cross check dates with days of the week. USEF does show some. Tried to attach but doesn’t line my phone’s screenshot file type.

Edited to add that maybe this link will work, at least until I delete the photo screenshot. https://share.icloud.com/photos/0gOajBuEVNeK8MJ8yV0nJZFvg

Thanks for the link. I hadn’t checked USEF. Looks like no summer series as of yet. Though I should probably quit speculating. I guess there’s still time for shows to be added once management gets their situation sorted out.

Bumping. Any news or updates?

They have some shows scheduled. It honestly wouldn’t surprise if the place is sold soon.

A few CHJA shows are on the schedule, and the dressage shows managers are saying their shows this summer will be on.

There has been a post going around for h/j professionals and show managers to have a meeting in a few weeks to discuss the future of the h/j schedule.
