Combined feed/tack room

Count me as another with the combo, am just finishing it. I did put up a few cabinets to hold supplements, and DH is putting in a counter top where I plan to store grain under in bins. The feed portion actually takes up little space in my tack room which is 12x14’ for reference.

I boarded at a small barn with a combined tack/feed room. It was the only heated room. Made it nice both for tack and for the person sorting out feed in winter. Certainly a consideration in your area! This one had saddle and bridle racks along one wall with room for grooming supplies, etc under each. The other wall had upper cabinets that held various supplies like first aid stuff, owners extra tack, some medicines, supplements. There was a small fridge as part of lower bank. The grain was kept in cans that fit along the wall. Extra bags of grain were kept in an old chest freezer with the hay storage. There was a counter over the fridge and extending a bit further where there was a drawer and cabinet. Very efficient and a great place to warm up in the winter!
