The least I have had a horse grow after the age of 3 was 1". Usually it’s more.
I have opposite issue. This one is a 3 year old (May baby). She is sticked over 16.3 but under 17H. I’m hoping she is done…but think there is probably an inch or two more.
ETA: She is also super easy keeper. We barely feed her (1lb balancer pellets)…but we have good grass…
I wouldn’t worry about him growing if he has only just turned 3, and you say he is pretty immature looking. Mine have all grown until 5 years of age – if he is 15.2 now, I bet he’ll hit 16 hands eventually. Like TrotTrotPumpkin said, put away the tape for a while and just give it time. Maybe like a watched pot doesn’t boil, the watched warmblood won’t grow! :lol:
My “baby” sticked a hair over 16.1 at her PPE at 4 years 6 months. She currently sticks at 16.3 (almost 6 y/o). I’d say she’s almost doubled in width during that time as well.
at 3 he still has many years to grow.
wise advice…I will step away from the measuring stick…maybe…
