They make compact utility tractors from tiny up to about 40 horse–maybe more hp these days. They are still light weight and, at least when I was buying, the high horsepower compact tractors were just as expensive or more expensive than the same horsepower utility tractors with fewer bells and whistles. IMO, for tractors, you want basic, as much mechanical/hydraulic as you can get. Computers tie you to the dealer for service these days, and dealers are expensive.
Old tractors that have been well maintained are just as capable as new ones, and you can service them yourself.
