Hi everyone, I’m way overdue on an update on this pretty girl. I took some quick pics of my guys out in the pasture this week, so wanted to share a couple. She fit in pretty well with them originally, and has since become a solid mid-pack member of the herd. It took her some time to warm up to me, but after a month or so (and discovering the magic of treats!) she really started to come out of her shell. She’s now just as in my pocket as the rest of them are.
I’m planning on breeding her, but probably not until 2024. I have not been able to do as much work on my property as I would’ve liked due to the economy. However, I would love any stallion recommendations. It’s never too early to start drooling!
The baby will probably be my last “official” horse, as I’m now past a certain age and have a greater sense of self preservation.
I’ve always loved RIDs and Irish Sport horses, so I’d love to find a good ammie-friendly dude for some dressage, low level jumping, and just hacking out. Color not important, but I do prefer a horse at least 16.2. Mare is 16.1, but I’m rather tall myself, so I need something to take up a lot of leg. Second choice for a stallion would be a Trakehner, but honestly, so long as he tends to sire level-headed babies, and hopefully correct some of my mare’s flaws, I’m happy whatever the breed.
