Considering moving barns because of trainer's personal life

You hold your finger on a word. It highlights with 2 blue icons on each side. You move these to the front and back of what you want edited. I have an Android device.

It’s exactly the same on an iPhone.

Yay……I did it  thanks BB for the edit for dummies instruction.

ETA works on iPhone 12 and mini pad…5 I think.

Thank you. It works. But doesn’t show the quote set off in grey?

Thank you, thank you! I would try to highlight and only get that one word in blue. But, keeping at it, I can get the two blue thingies that move. I’ve been using the “quote the whole post” technique and deleting what I didn’t want. Tedious, but it works.

I just tried it. This is on a really cheap but one year old Android.

I win. My one close friend from a previous boarding barn - 42 years. We call ourselves “sisters.” Thanks, Leslie.

  1. A new trainer can/will most likely reach out to your current trainer to get information about you. Clients come and go - professionals will be standing at the ingate together forever ;). Be prepared.
  2. When asked why you’re looking at a new barn - your goals of doing more rated shows is 100% a great answer. DO NOT slander or badmouth your current trainer.
  3. If you find the right fit, great. Give your current trainer 30 days notice (be prepared to leave sooner) and make sure all your bills are paid and current. Let trainer know you’ve been very happy, thank trainer for all their hard work and if they ask why, simply share exactly what. you stated to New Trainer - you want to start doing all rated shows and follow that circuit and have found a barn that concentrates on that.

It’s not personal, it’s business.

This. You can tell a lot about various trainers and barn groups by watching the warm up rings. And if you can stand close enough to the out gate of the show rings to hear what trainers say to their students after their ride that is also informative. Of course you can start by browsing websites and social media, but some really good trainers are not good at self promotion, and some who are great at self promotion are not necessarily good at helping average horses and riders progress. Of course some may be good at both, or lacking at both.

Volunteering at the warm up ring is illuminating as well.

Mine does show the quote in grey. If sometimes the quote in grey doesn’t work. I go back to highlight again and then it shows.
