Could my horse have eaten my husband’s wedding ring...?

One of my horses actually grabbed a McDonald’s hamburger from my daughter’s hand and ate it all (wrapping, huge sticker, hamburger and all). I remember coming into the barn and my daughter frantically fishing in her mouth telling her to drop it (like she was a big dog ). Horse refused to give it up and swallowed it. My daughter gave me this horrified look and says OMG what do we do? I said hold, on, let me google “My horse ate a hamburger with wrapper” hahaha. I called the vet and asked, they said to keep an eye on her and would probably pass through, but to monitor for signs of colic. A few days later walking the pasture we found it

Hope you find your husband’s ring OP!

One of the horses on my college riding team managed to pull his turnout sheet into his stall and ate the entire lining. Any other horse, it would have killed, but he passed it. In one piece. No joke.

When my TB was on rehab at a friend’s barn, she was so impressed none of the Halloween decorations bothered him. The first thing I said was “They’re out of reach, right??? Otherwise, he WILL eat them!!”

I’ve seen several horses eat plastic Christmas decorations when people thought that artificial holly would look so festive and Christmas-y lining the stall posts. They get it down quickly, while people are running toward them and shouting. I suspect that horses like eating chewy plastic. I’ve never personally know a horse to get sick from it. So far. :o
