I saw him a few days ago (on FB i think) and loovee him. Go see him, post pics, videos whatever you get, just cause he’s so handsome!
You saw him on FB? Who posted him up?

These CL horses are fantastic!!! Couldn’t believe that one before and after pic

When I get some more time on my hands, I’m hoping to start looking for a CL horse. I’ve got enough financial cushion, just the time…

the TB looks cute OP.

He looks great–I like his legs. Let us know if you go see him!

I am getting in contact with her to go see him hopefully Saturday.

Hmmm… I got more pictures of him. Is he worth a look? He looks kind of tragically downhill?

Any opinions?

I don’t really think he looks downhill. That shadow on the ground kind of plays tricks with your eyes. I do think he looks long backed and his pasterns are possibly a little long but I still think he is worth a look, especially since I assume he is priced pretty low.

The pictures are so horrible that I think you have to see him in person. Watch him move a little and see if he has a nice personality…

Report back please

My opinion is that this person is not good at taking pictures of horses. I say go look if he is not TOO far away.

Alrighty. Thank you for reaffirming. He’s an hour away from my house, which, in Houston is a reasonable driving distance (my mom lives an hour away from me and we still both live in “houston” )

I will take pictures, videos, and report back. Thank you guys for going through this journey with me!

I hope you will be ready to load up and go, a twofer deal too!

Pictures first, since that’s what everyone wants.

Now story:

We pull up and he’s in this nice, large pasture with plenty of greenery. We come up to him and give him a once over. Feet are long, since she admits that he hasn’t been trimmed in a while (“my farrier disappeared on me!”) but large decent lookin’ feet. He was thin, but not starved. She feeds him, but I assume not enough, since his appaloosa pasture-mate was quite plump. He was muddy and looks like he hasn’t been bathed/groomed in a long, long time. He had fungus, his tail and mane had dreadlocks. He allowed us to pick up his feet and my mom pushed on his heels – he didn’t have soreness. Only thing that really struck me is on his front right leg, on the outside he had a sizeable bump. I palpitated it (intensely – like I really got in there) and he didn’t twitch an ear. The bump was cold and felt boney/hard.

Then we wanted to see what his walk/trot looked like. She dug up a halter (from the back of the shed… I guess he hasn’t seen a halter in a LONG time) and he stood quietly in the big pasture for me to put it on him. I praised him, gave him pats, and generally loved on him. He immediately wanted to be in my pocket and was so sweet to me. We messed with him with a halter on - picked up all feet no problem, let us play with his ears, palpitated his back (no pain). Just stood quietly and humored us.

My mom recorded him walking and trotting on the lead. Once he figured out that we wanted him to trot, he became a trot machine on the lead and did it happily every time we asked.

What really struck me is that the owner’s daughter had this lovely white Hello Kitty umbrella, and rather than the horse going “OH GOD WHAT IS THAT RUN!!!” he went up and wanted to sniff it and check it out. He was curious about things, the type that seems to stand still, just take it in, and think about it.

After sending pictures off to my trainer she said “bring him home.” Tomorrow we are bringing him home and in quarantine (he hasn’t had shots in a long time). We’re going to put him through a jump chute tomorrow! I will definitely update tomorrow once we get him home, bathed, trimmed up, and post video of him going through the chute (if he’s any good).

My boyfriend has temporarily named him Craig… since he is from Craigslist (so original… thank you hunny  ).

Wish us luck, y’all!

Haven’t been following from the beginning, but just “tuned in” to discover “Craig” – I think he looks VERY cute. Trot pics actually make it seem like he may in fact be a decent mover too. Looking forward to hearing more about him.

He is lovely! Congrats to both of you!

That’s great - congrats!

Cute, good luck!

Aw wow, sounds like sweet guy, I hope he works out- I bet he’d be in your pocket forever.

He is adorable. Nice trot!

Aww…I’m so happy for you! He looks and sounds really sweet. I bet he wants to be a pleaser. Keep us posted. And post some pics after beauty-shop day!

I’m really going to enjoy the before and after pics.

That is a nice horse, I hope the bump is nothing!
