Creative Solution to Oral Flushing Cheek - between cheek and dental arcade

Yes. Diastema. What bothered me about her food packing was when I would go up there with a rubber glove and using my finger to get out the pack and noticed it stinks a wee bit. So thinking best to get it out if easy enough. Vet confirmed always best not to have food packing.

I’m sorry about you losing your guy. I know how that feels and it sucks.

I got one if these for irrigating a mouth.

I just picked one but I think I got mine from Valley Vet ( and it didn’t cost that much). There are different sizes. I got one of the smaller ones because my hands are small and to operate a syringe or the one drench syringe you have I would have to use both hands.

With the above type of gun, it is easily filled by squeezing the handle and sucking up the water.

My horse had a slab that fractured off a tooth that was packing food in the cavity.
I told the vet my horse was fine with the hose. I guess she changed her mind after I bragged on her because the next day she would not open her lips for love nor horse cookies and we both ended up soaking wet on a cold windy November day so I headed online and got the drench gun. Easy peasy and she tolerated the gun just fine.

Thank you Susan! That is SWEET and would definitely get the job done. If the other inexpensive ideas don’t do it I’ll order this.

She recovered very well - a tough mare. She died a few years ago at 32 years old.
