we dealt with a chronic cribber for years
what worked best for us was the weaver collar - but had to make sure there was a connecting strap between the ears or the front strap would slide down over his eyes
also used a stainless steel basket muzzle
had some short 1 inch nylon straps made to connect it to the halter and padded the halter nose with a natural sheepskin thick fluffy cover to prevent rubs
he eventually figured out how to crib with the basket on but it cut down a lot and satisfied the barn that we were doing something
Our boy had specific spots he preferred to crib so we could treat those
but actually found that if we left him alone he would get less passionate about cribbing ALL THE TIME
