I’m not quite 5 ft tall, and my Icon Flight is a 17’’ seat, with the long blocks. Full disclosure - I didn’t specify the measurements. Horse and I fell in love with it on the test ride, and our rep had another one on hand to use as a demo, so I was able to buy that very one.

Did you get the petite flap? I’m 5’ tall and I would find even a 15" flap quite long so I am curious how you find the flap length.
I’m 5’1" with a 28-29" inseam, and the Icon Flight I have on trial has a petite flap. The standard flap is 16" and also what I consider a reasonable length compared to a lot of other dressage saddles. I’m used to riding on saddles with too-long flaps, but I really like the shorter flap on my trial saddle (thus far). For me the 15" flap is quite short enough, especially since it is a monoflap. The saddle really is very close contact. I feel like if the flap were shorter, it would look strange unless my horse was a lot smaller.

I should add that visually I prefer a flap where the knee is almost at the bottom of the flap-- the “leggy rider” look. My horse is 14.2 so a shorter flap is okay. I’m currently riding in a mono flap so I’m always curious about how other shorties feel about their saddles.
Anyone use a custom on an xwide horse? Curious how wide the trees go.
Ah, got it. I’d say there is at least 4" of overlap between the top of my boot and the bottom of the flap, but I probably need to let my stirrups out a hole because I tend to clench up when riding in a new saddle. (I already had to let them out a hole or two between the Stubben and the Custom as I guess the stirrup bars are higher or more recessed.) I am in no danger of catching the top of my boot on the bottom of the flap. My horse is 15.3.
My horse is W/XW (depending on the saddle) and the saddle he just outgrew is a Stubben 32cm tree (partly due to width, probably a lot due to long tree points and growing shoulders). The trees on Customs are adjustable by a fitter, so you could probably get one tweaked if you needed to. That’s one of the reasons I’m considering this one. It’s very difficult to find a fit as nice on my gelding as this saddle seems to have and I just don’t have the budget to go full custom.
I am looking for an Icon Flight too! If anyone knows of one with SHORT blocks, size 17.5-18 please message me! Thanks!!
I ride in an Icon Star. I LOVE it. I also prefer the short blocks. I am 5’6" but slender, I ride in a 17" and it has plenty of room. My trainer is 5’8" and is fine in my saddle. I think the short blocks make the saddles work for taller people fine.

Yes, it’s the petite flap, and it works just fine.
Does the star model have a pommel that is higher and could possibly hit in the crotch?
The Star does have a higher head, but I don’t have problems with it. There are about 6 in our barn now and I’ve heard no complaints.
In my opinion, the Flight is the closest thing to a perfect saddle I have ever sat in. In the process of getting my hands on one now. Resell is great, you really can’t go wrong. The Icon Star is amazing as well, haven’t tried the Coda. I would say they run true to size. I am 120 lbs and 5’11 and I ride in a 17.5", but can also ride in an 18" with not a lot of trouble other than it looks a little big. I would say if you are typically a 16.5" you would not have any issues in a 17".
Just curious (this is a general question): obviously 16 or 16.5" is considered a very small seat size. How about 17? Is that still considered small? I will consider looking for a 17" Icon Flight, but not if it’s going to be impossible to sell. I’m not going through that again. From my research 17.5 seems by far to be the most common seat size.
Mine is a 17.5" seat. I have the longer rolls, regular flaps. When I tried the Custom line, this is the one my horse said yes to - I couldn’t get him to canter in any of the other models we tried. This one he just went happy as could be! I wish I could have bought the demo saddle - the wait was really long. Probably my only complaint and I didn’t love the rep that covers my area.
I love my Flight saddle. I sometimes think I’d like the shorter rolls but really? Those things keep me in the saddle when my horse is ‘exuberant’ so overall, I’m very happy with it. Mine is 3 years old now, IIRC.
I’m trialing a flight right now and have never felt so secure in a saddle – WOW!’
