Really, the GG? Huh. I’ll look into that. Thanks!
As I recall, they were better for more flat-backed horses. My horse has a curvier back. Can you comment on that @Alterration ?
Thanks!

I will pm you a picture of the back in question. It’s a bit curvy.
Soooooo, I went with a very used Scheele Obrigado. The saddle was fit to a PRE/mustang/QH and is so wide in front that it is hell to ride in, even with a 20+ year old very thick gel pad. I put my current saddle on a saddle holder and you can’t tip it forward. I put this saddle on a saddle holder and it totally tips forward up the pommel.
I rode in my former saddle tonight and it was so incredibly joyous. My aids meant something once again. I was so comfortable. My horse was very responsive. Sure, the Obrigado frees his shoulders but that is incidental to the currently poor fit. I just can’t ride effectively in a saddle that tips me forward.
The Shleese fitter says she could fit it to my horse’s back, but she’s not coming until the very end of March. I don’t see the use of riding in this saddle until she comes to fit it. Oddly, I find that the stirrup bars in 3 saddles of this make are at an odd position and that my current saddle leathers don’t really fit. I purchased Keiffer leathers with the “half hole” increments and can report back if anyone is interested. Also, I find the knee rolls to be oddly shaped and since they’re fitted by velcro, I think the knee rolls of my cheap Thorogood saddle will be better anatomically. I honestly don’t “get” the knee rolls from Shleese but will ask the fitter with my upcoming fitting. I have a good radar for filtering sales info from horse/rider info. And I just want a comfortable ride for me and my large shouldered horse!
