CWD 2G Saddle Review - DON'T DO IT. RUN

Update! Today got a very snarky nasty “no” email from Leather In Motion, LLC, a particularly hilarious name for the overarching shadow company that purchased brand rights to CWD, Butet and Deavauxcoux. Why is the company name so hilarious to me? Because the CWD rep literally told me this in a text message when questioned about taking measurements:
“Now about providing measurements on everything saddle fitting session we offer I just want to say that we are actually very proud to work differently than some independent saddle fitters.
We respect the traditional way but we just decided to work differently. When you join CWD we learn everyday day, you see hundred, thousands of situations, you have access to a network of fitters and you have continue learning. It’s also a requirement to be a rider.
We designed sport saddles in the best interest for horses and riders. What matters the most to us is not the way the saddle sit on the back of the horse when horse is in the grooming stall. We care about what happens in motion.

Pay attention to that last line. They don’t need to measure because they watch what happens “IN MOTION.” (waving magic hand gestures)

So, they are so cutting edge, so advanced that they don’t even need to measure! Phew, good to know. Well played.

Pretty sure CWD is an abbreviation for a french term that means “I will rip and tear if yiou so much as look at me crosseyed. MY 2G at eight years old has had four leather repairs for rips and tears,. The tabs to hold the stirrup leather ends have both fallen off and the latest is the stirrup hanger bar has broken. CWD refuses to send me the bar but insists I send it to their shop at my expense, not covered by warranty

But in your other thread you discovered that its not just a simple bar replacement but a major repair to the tree which is needed so maybe you should clarify this post.

The first generation, yes, but you lower the pommel. I did that and it was fine.

I own a 2gs and its great. They fit my horse and he’s happy with it. I did a blind test with all the models and the deep seat worked for me best.

Agree. I don’t care about the brand but it fits my horse and me so that is where I spend my money. I love it always turns into a bash fest
