If I was going to pay 7k for a saddle I would get a Stackhouse… years ago I bought a L’Apogee for my hard to fit Tb and even with foam panels it has fit 4 out of 5 horses! with no sore backs ever…I have had it for 14 years and it has held up wonderfully and was not as expensive as CWD. I hated the Devoucoux and the Antares
I miss Gary!
Would not buy one. Friend has a custom one and it has made every one of her horses backs sore. (yes she has a fitter) She wished she had done more research and not gotten it.
I sent my CWD off to Highline & it sold in a week. My 2 cents, If they were no longer popular it would have taken much, much longer to sell.
My two cents is people see them all over the place and want to give them a try for themselves. Some people LOVE them, most do not and send them on down the road. Our experience giving them a try was not good as the rep tried to tell us the saddle that clearly did not fit the horse or rider was perfect.
Interesting that you mention this. I’m looking for a new saddle and have been riding in my L’Apogee (foam panels) for 12-13 years. It fits a lot of horses and has held up pretty well. The issue is that the seat has gotten rather hard over time. Do you have that issue with yours?
