Definitely there are a lot of horses in the area, but the HJ scene (especially the competing A/AA HJ scene) is quite small. Which is why I think @Arelle expressed that concern. Compared to other regions, the HJ scene (especially rated showing) is quite under represented, which is why its sad that there are so many “Trainers” in our region that this could apply to.

My old bosses used to say the same thing as you mentioned, and we’d often have to rein them in that while YES, nearly every pasture has a horse at it, you have to take out a large percent of those horses that actually get ridden and give them to other disciplines. We’d pass by huge, fancy barns and they’d tell me to go in, and I’d have to explain that actually no - Jason Vanlandingham nor Chad Bushaw need a high end jumping saddle. :rofl:

But I do agree - if you’re into horses and want to compete. You can find a show and horse community for just about any discipline in DFW!
