David Mullinix Photography- if you haven't received your pics, see pg 3, post 45

I know the Rocking Horse Organizers sent him a certified letter on behalf of competitors. I never received my pictures from Rocking Horse in March 2013.

It may be time to pay a lawyer to send him a nice letter. I also wonder if you could file charges of some sort against him. He is committing a sort of theft afterall.

I’ve never ordered from David Mullinix, but had the same problem with Jeffrey Nye at Xpress Foto. Ordered (and paid for!) a CD of photos over a year ago now, and still have not received them. Cannot get any response to repeated e-mails, calling, or submissions through the “customer service” part of the website. I’ve been as polite as I can but it’s incredibly frustrating! I sympathize with the fact that horse show photography is not really an easy way to make a living, especially in the digital age, but handling customer service this poorly certainly does not help them.

Just FYI, David Mullinix photography is now the show photographer for some of the Florida horse trials as well, which is new this year.[/QUOTE]

I buy from Xpress Foto at almost every show (5 this year, bought pics at 4!) and have never had an issue. Always quick response, get them out to me quick if I don’t get them at the show, lovely people.

That’s very interesting to hear that they are still working in the horse show photo world - I had heard rumours that Jeff was very sick and not working anymore, and was feeling bad for being upset with them (even though I did already pay for those photos!). However, now that I know that Xpress Foto is still in business I will certainly be back to attempting to get in touch with Jeff. It has been 18 months since I paid him $150 for a CD of photos and I can’t even get him to return my phone calls, much less actually produce the CD. Inexcusable in my book.

I see that he (Mullinax) is located in Gainesville, which means that action can be taken in Florida. If you paid $ and you are still waiting for pictures, send me a PM with all the details and let me see if I can come up with something that I can do to help.

I need to earn some pro bono hours for the year anyway

I hate when people take your money, especially over pics of your pony, and don’t deliver. This is very, very bad behavior. So, let me see if I can help!

Libby

I’m pretty sure none of the FL horse trials will be using him in the future. It’s just a shame that he stole so much money from so many people.

I find it just fascinating that he’s been able to move on to new shows up north and find new folks to fleece. I wonder if those show organizers know about his history?

If it were me and I waited all this time, I think I would have to contact my credit card company to have the charge reversed/credited to me and though disappointing to not have the photos, its more of a disappointment to not have the photos AND be out of the cash. I don’t think yu need to get a lawyer, most CC companies will credit your account based on the fact that you didn’t receive the item purchased. This donna person is probably sick and tired of being copied on emails… Evidently she’s not getting the picture (no pun intended lol) that this person provides substandard service… On the hand it should be easier and faster to produce prints digitally that back in the days when photos were “developed” -

If you read through the thread, you will notice that everyone said their credit cards won’t do anything about it after 90 days, and since some of these people have been waiting over a year, they are out of luck otherwise. I hope that everyone who has an issue please take bensmom up on her generous offer to try and help you.

Donna got the picture and got a new photog. Like RR said, 90 days later, we’re out the CC recourse.

Hopefully Bensmom can help us now!

Ok, I’ve sent PMs to most of you guys that still haven’t gotten photos. I hate to have to go all lawyer on someone, but sometimes that can’t be helped.

And apparently, I can be pretty scary when I need to be. I don’t litigate much, if at all, but had the head of our litigation team impressed when I went after a lying, weaseling opposing counsel in a phone conference.

They don’t let me out much!

In any event, if I missed you with a PM, or if you know anyone else that has been cheated out of pics by him, let me know!

Libby

Libby rocks!! Go get 'em girl!

Libby I received your PM and replied - you made my day! I stalked this jerk for awhile, even got him on the phone one time. He lied to me (of course) and told me he would mail me my prints the next day. It goes without saying that never happened.

You may want to do a search about this guy in the H/J forum too, or make a post there. I know I’ve seen a thread or 2 over there pertaining to people with the same issue- paid, but no product delivered.

I still want my photos. Anyone have any luck? No response to my emails or calls. No response to my BBB complaint.

He didn’t respond to my demand letter – it came back unclaimed. While a suit may win in small claims court, I don’t know that there will be any way to force the photos.

Anyone with any ideas beyond what has been tried, PM me.

anyone in Gainesville that can show up on the doorstep?

Excellent request, FC – I have a notice letter I’d be glad to forward for personal delivery!

I just love when you get your dander up…I had to pester dear David for months one time for pics, eventually got them (and they were really good…but :frowning: )
YAY LIBBY! xo

I have nothing to say but lesson learned. There are too many other better photogs out there that actually get you your photos… A couple of years ago threatening to call the credit card company and stop payment along with repeated complaints to show management finally got a call from him. Guess even that doesn’t work anymore. :frowning:

I just refuse to even look at his photos anymore. I will not purchase from him.

A shame that such photogenic facilities (Poplar) use him.
