Der Dau, Vogel, Parlanti, Oh My!

Where are you located? They are now doing fitting and working with Dover retail stores. Depending on what you need normally semi customs are only 100 more then off the rack, so around 800. But when I say semi custom I mean I fit into a standard size they make and I got to pick out the boot out of their stock. I tweaked it a bit but not much.

I ride in my DeNiros almost every day…and then walk around in them too and they are great Highly recommend the brand. And as I mentioned in an earlier post, I did the measuring myself and the boots fit great!

I have a pair of Dehners which I love and will last forever but just don’t give me that look in the ring I loveeeee. Plus they are pull on’s and after a really good hip pop one time getting them off - I decided they probably weren’t good for my joints anymore.

Sooooo I bought the new Sergio Grasso’s (Michel Robert line) a couple months back. And may I say…they are ah-mazing. My trainer says “it looks like you were poured into them.” They have a smidge thicker leather than the Parlantis so they will hold up longer yet still they have a very soft look. And comfortable!!!

I was explained the Parlantis are actually two pieces of leather that are not glued together - so they shift back and forth causing the quick wear and tear. I figured for the same price and same beautiful look - i’ll go with something that’ll last a tad longer. Not Dehner long…but longer.

My other Parlanti pet peeve - the height. They look too short on a majority of people. The Sergios…tall, slim, and beautiful!

Anyone have experience with the semi-custom DeNiros such as this pair from SmartPak?

My DeNiros are semi custom. They are not field boots but the look (other than the lacing in the front is the same. I had the squared off toe and the high tops. One other difference between my boots and the field boots is that my zipper is on the front towards the inside. It does not rub my horse or my saddle.

As mentioned before, I am out in the mountains not near any “real” tack stores so the DeNiro people gave me the instructions for measuring them myself. It was pretty simple and the boots that I got fit me perfectly. I would clearly get these again if/when I need another pair of boots.
