Or to 365 Cat Calendar.

I’ve seen several calendar-worthy photos on CoTh. Little kittens are very popular. I think there are several kitten calendars out there.

That one tuxie has enough whiskers for all of them!

Where do you live? I sure do hope there is a rescue agency that can help with spay/neutering somewhere within driving distance. I can’t believe the price your vet’s office quoted you!!!

*Thought I’d post here instead of hijacking the other post.

Thank you, I felt bad about hijacking so didn’t respond there. That quote includes pre-surgical bloodwork and post-surgical care. I’ve sent off a few emails to several people including the ACO and a contact my vet left. Fingers crossed!! I’d like to get them altered before they go to their new homes.:crossed_fingers:

I’ve never had a vet that wanted to do blood work for a spay/neuter on a young cat. All my cats are older so I haven’t had to spay or neuter one in a long time. But in the past, the cost was around $200 or $300 per cat (at a regular vet office, not a low-cost place).

I’m very blessed to have an ASPCA spay neuter clinic here. It’s $35 for males and $50 for females. Cats, that is. Dogs are a little more.

No charge for feral/community cats.

I’ve never had pre anesthesia blood work done for spay/neuter either. Only if they were older.

Fingers crossed for you!!

How are the kittens already eight weeks old as of yesterday…? They are supposed to be leaving any day now to their new homes. :sob:

They are so much more brave. They run around the house in kitten stampedes, climb EVERYTHING from the shower curtain to my back leg, they get into little crannies I didn’t even know existed… They are a total troupe of trouble.

On Sunday, I’m taking the momma and two of the kittens to a spay clinic nearby that does offer low cost options. They only had room for 3, so the other two will be on a wait list.

Some pictures - they are getting hard to photograph because they move too fast now.

Big Tabby who is still all paws and ears

Cupcake, the definite ringleader with her underlings below

Cupcake about to nap (the only time she is still)

“Winston Jr”, the very sweet and cuddly tuxie that I will miss so much when she goes to her new home :sob:

A not very flattering picture of Momma’s Boy, who is as cuddly as Winston Jr and never still long enough for a photo.

That’s Momma’s Boy playing with Frankie’s tail (the large black cat)

Their favorite thing? BOXES! Winston Jr and Big Tabby wrestling in a box

Ummm if you drink beer, the 12 pack boxes are great for kittens. (So I’ve heard)

Do you mean that there will be a day when @moonlitoaksranch will be our only source of kitten spam?

I have enjoyed following all the litters here on COTH. You have done a great job creating happy and social kitties!

I adore that big tabby. That is my kind of cat!

They are sooo precious! I love watching kittens play

I love when they can’t decide what they want to do - roll around, bite their foot, bite their friend, play with the tail - so many interesting choices! They make me laugh.

They are all so very cute but little Cupcake is quite the little stinker but oh so innocent.

Oh they are so precious!! So tough to let them go!

Poor Cupcake looks like she’s about to pass out from exhaustion, lol!
I love when kittens play super hard and then pass out like their batteries are dead. Extra cute when they pass out flat on their backs, little bellies up in the air!

Update: got Momma and two of the kittens spayed today at a low cost clinic. They could only take in 3 so the other 2 are on a wait list. Momma and one of the kittens (Big Tabby) are doing good, we’ve been home about an hour and a half. They were ready for pick up at 11:30 so it’s been 4 hours since their procedure was completed. I am a bit concerned about Cupcake, so could use some COTH jingles. I know it’s normal to be conked out after surgery and really hoping it is just a case of the surgery groggies. She has not moved since we brought her home and has just been splayed out with her eyes open. She is breathing and will cry if you pick her up, I have her wrapped in fleece (they said she was cold at the clinic) and in a carrier for now. Momma and Big Tabby both ate the teaspoon of wet food the clinic told me to give them, but Cupcake is too out of sorts.

Hopefully just extra sensitive to anesthesia. My little pipsqueak (foster fail) was pretty blah the day of spay. The shelter I foster for waits longer, and with Covid, she ended up being 5 months. I wrapped her in fleece and held her most of that day and evening. She bounced back by the next day.

Fingers, toes and eyes crossed she is fine.

Jingles for Cupcake! Hopefully she’s just feeling the anesthesia still.

sometimes the anesthesia can hit them really hard (retired vet tech)… keep an eye on her gum color. if you notice she’s pale and not very responsive, that would have me seeking medical attention for her.

jingles she just needs to sleep it off!
