So strange. Is the idea that the rider is “sponsoring” the horse by paying part or its bills?
Might be somebody originally from another country to whom American English is a second language?
I don’t know about the ads on that site, they are both a little odd. Actually sound like they are just renting the horses out, not looking for a real part lease that would share some of the responsibility instead of just pay by the ride for horse, tack and a place to ride…course if they were to just say that, they’d be in a different business situation with tax and insurance liability.
It wasn’t a PNWer, it was Beentheredonethat … who after she was banned the first time posted as Two Trick Pony (now banned again, don’t know if she’s come back again). She’s in the Bay Area. I grew up riding in the Bay Area and never ever heard the word sponsor used.
Beentheredonethat was banned? When how what?
Sorry. Had to ask.
A rose by any other name???
Actually, the terms count. A lease (full, half, feed, etc.) has a base meaning and if used in a contract will receive that base meaning unless the contract says otherwise. There’s all kinds of precedent in most jurisdictions to assist in understanding the term “lease” when applied to a horse. But a “sponsorship” that reads just like a lease? That’s an opportunity to confuse a judge. Confusing a judge is seldom a good idea!!!
We live in a world increasingly operating on “Humpty Dumpty logic” when it comes to language. That, too, is a Very Bad Thing.

I think she said she wished the president would be assassinated or something like that.
Then the second time she just lost her sh!t with some posters and that was that.
She didn’t say he wished he would be assassinated, she said he could be hung for treason. Being that treason is a hanging offense. If you’re going to bring in unnecessary details, get them right. I don’t know anything about the second identity, where it came from or where it went. But I’m wagering neither does Pocket Pony.
Are you acquainted with BTDT IRL, Pocket Pony?
