Disappointing the Dog by Not Being a Superhero

Peepshow and boogers
If I go to the bathroom and don’t close the door all the way, he noses it open. He won’t come in, just opens the door…

I am not allowed to go to the bathroom (actually, no one is) and close the door…

Didn’t you know there is a secret escape hatch hidden under the bathroom sink that WILL suck you in…
Ditto! Timber, the Pap, flies at MACH10 into the bathroom. I kinda trained this by trying to beat him to the door to slam it shut. Shut the door on his face/neck once or twice but that is not enough to unglue a velcro dog. He got faster .

It has become a convenient moment to wipe away eye boogers (the TP is right there!), check for ticks, etc. COTHers, don’t tell anyone! My family would have me committed!

I bolded the best part: I am seriously in jeopardy of this! Bathroom door is cracked for all activities. Lately, Old Man Joey has been joining the potty party, nudging the door further open. Here comes the sunshine streaming in through the living room windows

My dog LOSES his MIND when I come home. Even if I just went out into the garage for something, I “come home” again and he goes insane with excitement. As if he thought I was NEVER coming home EVER again.

To tell the truth , it gets to be a bit much when I have to watch these acrobatics before I can get past him into the house.

Sighthounds… they are different. Not only are they always watching, but the ones I’ve fostered like to get justthisclose

We had a saluki/afghan mix that would sit with his nose about 1 mm from mine and stare right into my eyes. It was like if he just got close enough his brain would transmit instructions to mine!

And IGs of course aren’t content to follow; they have to crawl under your clothes with you!

Poor Delilah, I disappoint her constantly. Sometimes I don’t even come home at night. OMGiH the racket when I show up in the morning, as if, “Oh my GOD you are ALIVE and I am SO SO relieved!!!” I feel bad after the umpteenth time she’s followed me somewhere un-exciting so I’ll give her a little chase around the dining room for adventure.

OMG my Rhodie is the same way. If you are sleeping I wake up with his nose near my eye. Well, unless he has to go outside… then it is nose in my eye

Never licks but is exxxxtra close
