I have a very nice 1m20 jumper mare that is sitting at my farm, and I don’t have a rider to show her at the moment.
I live in Florida and I was thinking that it would be good idea to make her available for some riders showing in Florida.
I figured that some people might want to lease an extra horse to gets more miles in the ring.
Is this something fairly common? If so, where do I advertise the mare?
What are the terms?
It’s fairly common, but much more likely when the horse has a size able record. In such cases, word of mouth and/or the representation of a sophisticated trainer usually make the deals happen.
Another question kind of on topic… (sorry for hijack)
Is it possible to lease a horse per show, or per week in Florida? If so, what is the average cost to do something like this not including show fees?
Alan Korotkin of Castlewood Farm does that kind of weekly lease, I think the fees are up on his website. He might be someone who could help get the OP’s horse leased out too.
