Unless it’s raining I ride in my “expensive” saddle. I keep a wintec for inclement weather.
Basically I ride in the saddle that fits my horse best.
Saddles hold up well. I have one saddle that’s about 20 years old and atoll looks pretty good when it’s cleaned up.
For relatively short trail rides (under 4 hours) I will use my dressage saddle.
For longer rides or inclement weather my horse/s CUSTOM western saddle (that cost more than most dressage saddles) comes out.
Comfort for my horse is paramount.
