Does anyone make trailers with wood floors any more? Aluminum floors pro and con?

Am looking for a 2-horse bumper pull straight load trailer with ramp. Loved my old one (a Merhow Verylite from the 1990s). So far everyone I have contacted has aluminum floors in their trailers. With aluminum I am concerned regarding heat transfer, noise, vibration, etc. Are there any trailers made with wood floors today? Or am I mistaken about the aluminum floors and the horse’s comfort?

I have an aluminum floor in my Exiss gooseneck trailer. It also has mats in it, and I choose to put large-flake shavings in it (to catch any urine). I haven’t had a problem.

I think as long as you have mats on the aluminum floor, it takes care of the concerns you mentioned.

My 2h stock bp - no ramp though - has wooden floors. It’s a K&K trailer, made by Bee. It’s not that old - I bought it new just a few years ago.
Having said that, my horse definitely prefers riding in my new 2H slant-load Sundowner with LQ, which has an aluminum floor. I don’t know if his preference has anything to do with the floor - could be he prefers riding sideways - but he hops right on the aluminum floor trailer and had to be coaxed onto the wood floor trailer.

I believe Hawk still makes them with wood floors.

My old trailer had wood floors. My current trailer has aluminum floors.

My next trailer will have rumber floors, or wood. I will not get another trailer with aluminum floors.

Urine does a fantastic job corroding the floor, and even with rubber mats and sawdust, urine WILL make it underneath and get trapped under the mats. Pulling mats after every use to clean the floor is a pain in the behind.

I am already grumbling about my trailer because of this and I’ve only had it a year.

Yes - Hawk still uses wood (or rumber). I just ordered a new one with a wood floor. My 17 year old Hawk floor is still in perfect condition. Want it?

EquiSpirit does in all their models.
