Good point- having grown up in Texas where there is very little federal land it’s not something I would have focused on there. We’re lucky in Utah, we have access to by far most land throughout the state- BLM and forest service trailheads are still wide open. As for tourism, though the national parks are closed (Utah has more of those than any other state), the tour buses are swamping the nearby (and equally spectacular, just less known) state parks. Plus I’m lucky to have a few thousand county and locally owned acres within a hack or short trailer ride of the barn. All good because being on furlough I have more time to ride…
