Dressage ponies?

I hope I am wrong but right now it seems my serious riding days are over. I need to find him the best home possible. He’s to young to be a pasture pet

Honestly if he’s sound, sane, reasonably well trained so that he can at least pull off a decent training level/first level test with an amateur on board and has decent (pure) gaits the market is there. It all comes down to the pricing. I typically have not had any trouble selling such types. I find that great ground manners, ease of loading, ability to trail ride/hack out and even just a local show record does a lot for the amateur market segment that is looking for shorter stature to have fun safely. At least of for me, none of those skills/attributes have required a professional trainer to establish or advanced skill of riding but being physically able to do it and having (or making) the time to do it has been the key.

Right now I’m not physically able. The case of pneumonia I had this past spring and the CLL diagnosis that resulted from that has hit me hard. I hope to regain some stamina but right now I’m pretty discouraged

I’m sorry to learn that. If memory serves me correctly, aren’t you on the East coast? If so, are you near any of the schools with an intercollegiate riding program? That might be an avenue to find a pony jock who could get your horse ready for sale, guessing that’s the direction you’re leaning towards (selling your horse). When I was in college (East coast) there was always an opportunity for me to ride/tune up someone’s horse and especially their ponies. I didn’t get paid for it and welcomed the break from school work and whatever job(s) I had at the time.

I would most likely have his trainer ride him. He is stout, half Irish Draught and she is petite.

Right now I don’t know what will happen health wise. I really want to feel better
