Wanja Gerlach of Performance Sporthorses, you can trailer in to Hunt Club Farms in Berryville (www.huntclubfarms.net) or he will come to you. Especially good with young horses
It’s interesting to read this from the perspective of someone who was raised and attended school in Middleburg, VA (Loudon County/Northern VA). I trained with Linda Oliver, prior to leaving for Europe and subsequently returning to the States to base my operation out of Wellington, FL.
I competed in numerous shows this past summer at Morven Park and I observed a number of the above listed riders/trainers. Though I believe many to be qualified to offer instruction, I would highly recommend Holly Wilmoth. Apart from being a personal friend of mine, she actually road Starlight (prior to winning Grand Champion at ‘Dressage at Devon’, 2008) in my absence and I’ve watched her systematically develop FEI horses in the past years. She’s extremely down to Earth and this is someone who has been scoring really well, with somewhat difficult horses and one of the few trainers who have actually developed their horses through the levels.
Her web-site is www.KingLandFarm.com
Small world
I used to live across the street from Linda in Great Falls
Her sister Barbara actually let me ride Pinchbeck Lord Peter

Does anyone have contact info for Natalia Martin?[/QUOTE]
here you go
Can we get some updated recommendations? Seems like a lot of these people have moved or aren’t findable with google. Also, anyone have contact info/experience with Heidi Berry and Annmarrie Ingersoll? Thanks!
Just a heads up to avoid Vintage Valley Sporthorses.
Allison Spivey of www.AllisonSpiveyDressage.com is AMAZING. She is great with a wide variety of different breeds and different experience levels for riders/horses. I have personally worked in her barn and I know firsthand that the care is impeccable. Allison is incredibly honest with her people, and is intuitive when it comes to horses.
Can’t recommend her highly enough. She’s located in Marshall.
Ampara Visser at A Training Vision is an excellent horseman and super trainer - I think she also has some nice lesson horses for more experienced riders.
Good Info. Thanks. If there’s someone that’s in the “avoid” category, I would appreciate a PM
Anyone here ride with Jennifer Mutchler? I didn’t see her name mentioned but I see her ads a lot.
I have, I took a couple lessons and she was very nice. Not a good fit due to drive, 1 hour each way. She is definitely a confidence builder type of instructor and gave somewhat insightful lessons. I rode her beginner mare who was a really nice ride. If you know what to ask, she’s loads of fun.
Its not a fancy place by any means, but horses are well cared for and seemed happy.
