Dressage!!!

Good morning from southern California !

Morning Mardi! Did you get ANY sleep??

It’s the Olympics ! Have to watch.

I’m a bit disappointed that there is no expert commentator or at the very least a live score board

I´m guessing the swedish telly is closed for you but here´s the link:

Have fun with the muppetshow!

I would have loved a good commentator (Axel) , but better no one than MS-T.

Anyone else think that was a really high score for Germany considering the ride?? Maybe I just got up too early today, but seems to me the horse broke into the canter twice in the corners before extended trot… am I just crazy??

Loved Carl Hester’s ride.

maybe, but there are a lot of things Dablino did well so I can see enough 8’s, 8.5’s and 9’s. I thought the walk was bad as well (hopefully the score sheets will be public)

The BBC commentator is FABULOUS!!!

Good morning from Eastern LI–I’m really enjoying these Olympics–(even if I didn’t see the free ExPat shield link)–wonderful BBC commentary, and ‘sharing’ the experience with others via COTH and FB. A seat in the grandstand, in my PJ’s with my own cuppa tea.

Really nice that there is one general forum where the disciplines are ‘mixing’ here. Learned SO much watching the eventing, looking forward to doing the same during the dressage.

WOW Carl Hester left the others this morning in the DUST.

I love Carl, but I didn’t think utophia looked at tippy top form…

Totally agree, those were my thoughts exactly.

Great ride from Carl Hester :).

where are you watching?

WOW! Carl Hester’s ride was amazing!

Dablino was “looky” when he came in from outside…didn’t seem to be his confident self until well into the test. And even then he looked like he could go either way.
Surely he’ll only get better as the week goes on.

Carl Hester’s ride was lovely, but is Uthopia always so noisy? I’ve got a roarer that makes less noise than that going around. I’m guessing noisy doesn’t count against in dressage the way it does in hunters?

BBC commentator is Judy Harvey - International judge.

I think Carl Hester’s job was that of team anchor, to put a solid test in the bucket for the rest to build on. Consequently he had to dial down the risk factor a little.

LOL I just tried to ‘simulcast’ the NBC livestream and the BBC one, and forgot that I have “the shield” on–I got the ‘you can’t watch this in foreign territory’ message!

Good morning from NJ!! Took me 30 minutes to get the damn NBC feed to work. I sympathize with the poster on the OlympicEvents thread about the general suckiness of getting it work.

And the NBC feed has loads of commercials.
