Drop in or Spray in truck bed liner?

There are more expensive versions. I saw one when I was linking that one for $252. We have had ours for maybe 5 or 6 years. Got it from Harbor Freight. We use it a few times a year. One year I moved 17 pick up trucks of manure and old hay from the horse fields from feeding hay on the ground. We would load the truck with the tractor and crank it off. It took all day but I can’t imagine how long it would have taken shoveling it off the back or one tractor bucket at at time across the parking lot and past the barn. It has been well worth the price and I think I paid more like $65. At the sale price I might need to buy a back up one.
You do need to be careful to not load too much gravel and you still need to shovel out next to the wheel wells. But still much easier.

I have done that when I was younger. The crank thing is much easier as you can load more at a time and still crank it off. For the manure it was loaded to the top of the cab. I was cranking it off by hand by myself. No way could I have pulled a tarp off of a fully loaded pick-up even if it was only a 6.5ft bed.

BEST thing I did was have a spray on liner applied before ever taking my truck home. I get what Clanter says, but it’s really not that much of a big deal, and like others, I always tarp before loading dirt/manure/gravel.

Spray in - line-x honored it’s warranty on my 20 year old truck that got a small chip in it’s 20th year!

And, fwiw, I was behind a truck when their drop in liner flew out and scraped the top of my car. I am sure it was an exception, but I didn’t know that could happen.

Last year I bought a 1 year old Chevy truck with a spray on bed liner. It is MUCH slicker than what my last truck had. Things really slide around in there. I was wondering if there was anyway to make it rougher or sticky-er. Anyone know of anything or do I just have to add 2 x 4s across or use bungees to secure things?

Maybe throw a thinner rubber mat on top of it when you don’t want it that slick?
The 1/2" ones don’t cost much.
Some auto places have those just cut right for each model pickup bed.
I think that is what we have in our 1990 farm pickup without a liner.
That mat still going strong after all these years.

Ours is not slick at all, kind of feels slightly nubby.
You don’t slide standing on it.
Not as slick as mere metal, but it is slick enough to easily slide a feed sack out.
