Durable winter socks

The Carhartt winter socks are amazing! I’ve got a pair on right now. I usually get one or two pairs a year from Tractor Supply, I’ve got probably four pairs now up to three years old and they wear like iron and are wicked warm. My feet are always cold, and they are my go-to when it’s below freezing for outdoor work.

I seem to do fine with Smartwool socks, but I buy the hiking ones, which seem to hold up pretty well. I actually wear them year-round. I have an advantage, though, I buy them at the LL Bean outlet store in Freeport for about 1/2 price. I have gotten a few pairs of Smartwool dressy socks for work and they did not seem to wear particularly well.

Our go-to used to be Woolley Bullies - but can’t find them any more. Anyway, off to MEC to get me some Darned Tough socks. Ice everywhere still.

Do you mean Woolie Boolie? Defeet still makes those.

Yes - Ha! - apart from the spelling - but the little sheep logo is the same.
They last and are comfy and cosy.

Went to MEC and got 'em - grey ones with coloured flowers on them!

Do you get the Smartwool hiking socks? If not, they last a lot longer than the “pretty” ones. And I LIVE in them for at least half the year. I can usually find good deals on them on Sierra Trading Post, typically $10-12 a pair. Like these: https://www.sierra.com/smartwool-med…omen~d~5324%2F

FYI old thread bumped by spammer, who has been reported.

Costco socks are crappy now :frowning:

My favorite socks year’round are Eco Sox. made from bamboo fibers. Comfy, warm and TOUGH!

PSA for those of you with chronically cold feet. Spray the soles of your feet with anti-perspirant before putting on your socks. If your feet don’t sweat, they stay more dry and comfy. Thanks to Idlemoon for this tip from years ago.
