What was the score of Todd Fletterich and Otto[/QUOTE]

66.553%

Does this mean he didn’t make the CUT ??

Otto had a 66.553%
I was very impressed by Nartan -Katherine ended up with a 69.617%.

Yep, he didn’t make the cut.

Otto had some trouble with his piaffe. Reared several times in unwillingness. It was a very average test.

I think that tomorrow Nartan’s score will go way up as the judges now have seen the entire group. This pair have greatly improved since the trials, although I believe the Special is Katherine’s weakness… Anyway, I think she easily deserved to be in the 70’s. And not only do the Dutch deserve the Gold for the GP, they also deserve it for breeding the best horses!!

???

The judges probably know Nartan better than Katherine!

Just saying that usually the judges are a little more conservative with scores on the first day of a show, and knowing that they are a relatively new combo… I remember it took a lot more “face time” with the international judges before Debbie McDonald got the scores she deserved. As I watched back the rides in the order of the placings, IMO she had a more harmonious test than a few of the others that scored higher. I know Nartan has been around a while now… And was envious that this horse was bought for KBC, but I feel she has worked hard.

ORANJE BOVEN ORANJE BOVEN!!! HUP HOLLAND HUP!!!

Gotta say: really impressed to see that Great Britain has stepped up so much. Having Germany on top all the time was getting so boring!

Catty comment? It was a legitimate question.

I wouldn’t be proud if the US had won if they were subjecting their horses to the methods the dutch are for the sake of a medal.

Maybe you haven’t seen the photos or video that have been posted of the “training” rides they had the day before. I think it’s great that the video has been posted also (more than 20 min long) to shoot down the people trying to defend their practices by claiming that a photo can be taken of anyone making them look bad.

A couple of the photos are posted on eventingnation.com. There are also a couple links posted to video of Klimke’s training ride the day before he rode back in the 90’s. The difference is beyond astounding. I have no question that he would be beyond appalled and deeply saddened at the methods now being used
to achieve “success”.

What is really even more disturbing is the knowledge that if they are willing to subject their horses to this with literally the whole world watching at the WEG, what on earth must they be doing to them at home in the privacy of their own stable?

This post is about the Dutch (the country where I was born) winning GOLD!!!

They deserved it, they don’t abuse their horses, I personally saw these horses get off the trailers with their riders there so excited to see their horses. Loving on them, patting them, giving them treats. So stop making animal abuse comments. Take your ridiculousness to someone who cares, I don’t and I don’t want to hear it.

congrats to the dutch team!

Well, I guess it is obviously all about winning for you, so true to your country I guess. I am glad they are nice to the horses when they are not riding them. Personally, I think you need to be respectful of your horse ALL the time, not just when you are on the ground.

We will have to agree to disagree. I stand by my original statement. I would never be proud of my countries riders, in any discipline, if they used the kind of methods the dutch are using, in order to win.
