Easyboot trails, how do you know they fit?

I just got them in the mail, and my gelding is about mid-trim. He was between sizes so I ordered down, with that in mind.

I can’t tell if it’s because I just can’t tighten them, or they’re too big, but they make a slorking sound when he walks.

When you put them on, should they kind of pop into place, super snugly?

I’m not sure what to do!

I have half inch medium density pads in the old guys. I always worried about them being too tight because his heels bulbs were rubbed, not raw, but definitely worn. Supposedly nylons and/or baby powder with zinc oxide really make the fit. Definitely a snug fit, no noises, and for him he almost has to step down to get them all the way on. Really like them, he is much more willing to move out with his padding.

I haven’t experienced any noises in regular use.

my friend got them and they never fit quite right. even thought we measured 2x each foot. i do LOVE the easyboot Edge. They have been amazing.

My farrier really pushes barefoot boots over shoes and measured my TB for them. I had the exact same problem, and it seemed like lots of fine grit got down in the heels over the course of a ride and rubbed. I stopped using them and put shoes on that horse.

Fast forward a year, and we bought a TWH with tender feet. I put the same Easyboot trails on him, and they seemed to fit the same going on as the TB, but the boots didn’t shift or make noise and he chugged around pretty happily (aside from the same grit-in-boot problem).

All I can figure is they just fit a really round foot a lot better than a more oval one.

I had the easy boot trails, and they seemed to fall apart rather quickly. I moved to the Renegade boots and ended up ordering them a size too big. You want a snug fit for sure. With the Renegades, I went to an endurance ride where there was a Renegade rep and he adjusted my boots for my mare, and measured her back feet to ensure I would get the perfect fit (the back feet were even a size smaller than what I had measured her for).
