Ecovet fly spray---anyone using it?

Big Dee’s has it: https://www.bigdweb.com/search.do?query=fly+bye. And Amazon has the gallon.
And here’s the mfr: https://guaranteedhorseproducts.com/.

pony_baloney, I apply it all over, but I dilute it a little because it is SO oily. About 1 part water to 4 parts Fly Bye. I tried 50/50 dilution and it didn’t work as well on the flies. And yes, it smells wonderful.

I used Ecovet when it first came out because it was invented, formulated by the husband of a friend who was a vet. At that time you could only get it at that vet hospital. I wonder if he sold the rights now that it’s gone national.

My horse is one of the rare ones who seems to be allergic to geraniol (in fly-bye, for example). His legs puffed up to an astonishing degree and I had to have the vet out. Just a heads-up, in case your horses are among the unlucky.

Thanks for mentioning this! I just ordered some for a trial. If it works well, I’ll order the big container.

The Fly-Bye looks super interesting and…it’s soy based (super happy that was disclosed). My gelding has an awful soy allergy (I haven’t tested contact yet but he does react to soy oil in addition to soy meal) so I guess I won’t be trying this one.

He also reacts to chemical based fly sprays.

I’m really winning here! Lol!

Just ordered the Fly Bye. Also trying a feed thru from NZ called Ticks Plus. Feed twice a day or use in water trough repels ticks but also folks report fewer fly bites. My guy is also on 20 tabs per day of Zyrtec as he gets huge welts from fly bites and that has helped a lot.

I’m slow jumping on this bandwagon. Only today did I buy one of the little bottles of Ecovet.

I just got one too to try! Figured might as well since Smartpak was having a sale, I needed to stock up on Pyranha and needed to spend a few more dollars to get free shipping (I hate paying for shipping lol). Hopefully it works!

Tried it for 2 days. Applied it as per the instructions on the bottle and a video on their website how to apply. Result was my horse had never been so badly bitten up by gnats and was covered in ticks.

Then I find out the company doesn’t fulfill their “it works…or your money back” statement unless you buy it directly from them - and note that you pay for shipping on the delivery, and the return. That’s not clear on their return policy.

Have you tried this product? I used it years ago.

It’s in my rotation though it’s not a favorite of my gelding for whatever reason.

I’ve used it for many years in the past, mostly because it is natural. It wasn’t any better or worse than others I had tried. I used the concentrated version and diluting more or less didn’t make it more effective. Before that I was a loyal Pyranha user until something changed and it burned my horse and made his skin peel. Shame because it was working well.

I used Clac years ago. I used a fleece mitten to apply it because it wasn’t available in spray form. I have been using piranha, but despise the smell.
