Elk Creek itself is at elevation 2000 +. It also has a different demographic (financially) than Charlottesville so I would expect road maintenance and snow removal would be affected.
Thanks you guys!! I spent a few days in Floyd Va and thought it was great—I like remote myself and the rolling terrain is my idea of heaven for horses.
But my partners in crime prefer much further south, while I was thinking a Va winter would provide a nice taste of winter for this northern Vermonter.
Floyd is a bustling metropolis compared to the areas further south! I mean, there are sit down restaurants! And you’re only an hour from the “big city” of Roanoke!
