Endurance horse needed for Santa Cruz in July

I’m an East Coast endurance rider who misses the state parks in CA where I used to live and ride. There is an AERC ride coming up in Santa Cruz CA, the Fireworks 25/50. Is there an endurance rider out there attending the ride who has an extra horse?

I’m a low-end middleweight rider who can ride anything that’s fit and fast. References / pics available. PM me if you’re interested.

Also… anyone got an extra horse for Tevis??

Fireworks is a great ride with one very exciting water crossing

You should post your request on Ridecamp (the forum at endurance.net) as that’s a better place for that kind of question.
I will ask a friend who has several endurance horses in work and may be up for this. If so, I’ll send you a PM. (But only if they go to Santa Cruz - there is a 100-miler at Lake Almanor that same weekend and I think that’s where they’re headed.)

As for securing a Tevis horse, you better have deep pockets! That will cost you! And I mean four figures… And obviously you know already that you need to be in stellar shape yourself.

Thanks! I was kind of kidding about Tevis; I was planning on trucking out there this year with my mare, but she’s off until spring at least with a splint. So, probably not happening. Henry Cowell State Park in Santa Cruz was a place I spent a lot of good, solitary rides when I was broke and borrowing an OTTB in my early 20’s. I would love to fly out there and catch a ride.

I’ll post at Ridecamp as soon as endurance.net comes back up; my pc keeps blocking trojans when I try to open that site. :frowning:

The AERC facebook page would also be a good place to ask.
