Enell Sports Bra Worth The Cost?

My racer back Enell came today and boy, oh boy…those are a lot of hooks to hook. Can’t wait to ride in it.

Just make sure you carefully level up before you start. I have fought my way to getting everything hooked, and had one left over, on more than one occasion. I have been known to leave it like that

The Enell High Impact will make your chest totally immobile! It hooks in the front and is worth every penny. It will last for years if taken care of and will also improve your riding posture and make your clothes fit better. Rather than the judge being distracted by bouncing boobs, they can focus on your riding! $66 at BareNecessities.

I could not get all the hooks lined up. I always had one left over. I am going to have to practice!

I’m so glad it’s not just me!

A little late to the game on commenting, but I have both the Enell and a Panache high-impact (32GG). I find myself reaching for the Panache more often than not. The Enell does do a good job keeping everything locked down, but I find it has a really unflattering shape under most shirts. So if that matters to you, Panache seems to be a good option, at least for me. That said, if you aren’t buying the right size, nothing will help you. I know in the current lock-down situations, getting a professional fitting will be a hassle, but if you can get guidance from a pro, that will definitely help!

I also swear by the Enell high impact for my 34F chest.

In a pinch I have worn my normal underwire Glamorise front-close bras under a wicking medium-level sports bra (like a Moving Comfort) and that also worked pretty well. Tough on “good” bras though, if you sweat as much as I do.

I had the Enell post baby when I was a 34F, and it’s effective but I found it uncomfortable to wear for long. Now I’m a 32DD. I tried the She-fit and it is unflattering and a pain to put on, but relatively comfortable. The panache high impact and Wacoal sports bras are my favorite.

After reading thru this thread I went ahead and ordered an Enell high impact. It is just “okay”. For it to truly fit, I need adjustable shoulder straps, which it does not have. So because of that I do still bounce some. I wonder if I had sized down - it would have smooshed everything enough but not sure I could’ve gotten it hooked. It’s comfortable enough, altho in the heat it may not be.

Love Enell, bought a Shefit and never wore it…the velcro adjustable areas rub my skin.

I tried the SheFit, is a good bra, but it didn’t fit me no matter how I arranged it.

What I do is to always wear the light, soft one I wear every day and just before riding, ADD the Enell to it.
Like that, it is very comfortable, I could go on all day if I needed that extra support.
Fits perfect over the other and once thru riding, take the real heavy duty Enell off, just leave the every day one.

Has been best fit all around for me for some years now.
Try that, may also work for some of you.

I’ve been wearing Enell for running and riding for about 10 years? I’m 36DD, and for some of that time I was nursing. Nothing else seemed to do the job but Enell always did. Lately, I’ve been noticing that they are rubbing a raw line, 1-2" long at the bottom of the band near where the eyelet closures are. Sometimes it really burns! I thought, ok, this just means it’s worn out and needs to be replaced. So I replaced them and am still having the problem. I’m shifting to the Shock Absorber bra from Title IX even though the quality is not great for the price (comparable to Enell, IIRC). The first one I got had a defect in a strap, and the replacement burst a seam in the cup within the first few times I used it. But it does hold everything still, which is no easy feat, so it’s what I’m doing for now.

Edited: The bra I use now says Shock Absorber on it, but Title IXs name for it is actually Trade Up bra. I also use the Marvel Underwire for shows because it looks great under a show coat (like Stormy Daniels-level great). I can actually run/ride in it if I use the little hook to make it a racer back, it’s that good. But I don’t like to ask that much of it.

So, I did ride in it finally. I am not sure what I think. I have never worn a sports bra before, so this is all new to me. It does a much, much better job of holding everything in. I am far less aware of my ladies bouncing up and down and side to side, so I am not distracted by that.

The racer back is very comfortable. The bra does not lay flat on my chest where the hooks are. No gaps or strains. Just a little wavy. It is very comfortable to ride in. I love the silhouette it gives me. I wore it for several hours after I got home from the barn. Those lost ten minutes were torture. I was almost crying I wanted it off so bad by the time I took my shower.

I am going to keep it. It performs the job I bought it for. It looks well made, so it should last. And I love the coral color. It will almost look cute with a crisscross backed tank top. Having said that, I using the word “cute” in a relative way.

If those super armored bras dig in, try wearing a soft light bra under them to keep the stiffer ones from digging and rubbing.

I’ve been a fan of Enell for years, but just ordered SheFit. The only reason I ordered it was because my Enell was digging into my ribs. (Stupid quarantine weight gain.) I wish I would have seen this post beforehand. I didn’t realize it would create uniboob! :frowning: It’ll be delivered Saturday.

I’ve also looked at Panache. Maybe I’ll try one of those.

UPDATE: I received the SheFit last week. It says you can uncross the straps and I did. Much better fit. I wore it around the house for two days. Comfy.

Strapped it on for a trip to the barn. Rode for my lesson and came home. Didn’t even think about it until late that night when I was getting ready for bed!

Okay… I’m liking this thing! Adjustable, supportive, comfortable. And no uniboob!

I love Enell to ride in - but like others mentioned found it become uncomfortable on the trip home.

I also love that it is not hard on my shoulders. After years of carrying “the girls” around, my shoulders get very sore.

Yes, I chose the racer back in part because I had read that it was easier on you shoulders and I have found that to be true. I am happy with my purchase.
