Check out some of my other posts on here for more details, but in a nutshell, my guy developed EPM and did not respond to treatment (the shake, Marquis, Protazil, etc.) until I got desperate and called the vet who did the clinical trials for Marquis. She said that none of the drugs would work if his immune system was otherwise compromised. As he is older, she suggested testing him for Cushing’s. As it turned out, he tested positive, so we treated for Cushing’s. About two weeks later, we added in the Protazil again, and within a month, he was much improved. We treated with Protazil for two months after that, and you can no longer tell he had EPM. I was also giving him 10,000 IUs of Vitamin E a day, and he still receives that supplement now.
