Equiderma - anyone used this with success for itching caused by insects?

To clarify, it’s ONLY the ticks that bother her - and primarily in her tail. She had some in her mane (and some scurf), so I tried Selsun Blue shampoo and Listerine, and that fixed the problem.

She has various random itches (she shows me where ), but has no skin lesions, rain rot, dry spots, sweet itch, her belly is clean and dry, her coat looks fabulous. Of course this may change since our area has gotten NEVERENDING RAIN for much of the latter part of May and the beginning of June, and she is out in a high grass pasture with bell boots all around (because of her shoes) and protective boots in front. So far, she has no sign of scratches.

I can try the Zyrtec again, and will apply the Frontline when I go out today (it was POURING yesterday when I turned her out so no point in putting it on then!), and will try the Equiderma on the itchy spots when it arrives this upcoming week.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! If this doesn’t work I’ll look into some of the above treatments ^ ^ ^

I looked up Equiderma. The first active ingredient is chlorhexidine (same as hibitane). Would a dilute solution of that have the same effect? Im pretty sure I have that in my first aid kit already!

I just purchased the neem and aloe shampoo for my daughter’s Thoroughbred because he is just itching everywhere. His paddock is right next to a lake, and living in Florida we have lots of mosquitos, flies, and ticks. I will let you know how it works. I have used the Equiderma lotion for scratches and other skin issues, and I have been very pleased with it, so I am hoping to get good results from this!

I like the equiderma products and have used the shampoo and
option to stop a gelding from rubbing off an itchy mane.
