Farrier is potentially ghosting me, how to trim myself?

Update bc unfortunately I was right about being ghosted

My new farrier came out yesterday and he is wonderful! I was very impressed by him. My horses are in good hands with him and I am no longer (presently) swearing off all farriers lol

He told me that my previous farrier has a reputation for ghosting people. He’ll be good for a while, then will randomly go AWOL, and will eventually pop back up like nothing ever happened. There was some speculation as to why he does that but who knows how much of that was small town gossip.

Thanks for the update and so glad you found a good/better farrier. If the other one “eventually pops back up like nothing ever happened”, I think I’d give him a dose of his own medicine!

Sorry your old farrier ghosted you. I hate when people do that. I recently had this experience with a plumber . . . called him to do a job, he said he’d call me back that afternoon and let me know when he could come, he never called, I texted him, he never responded. That’s the third time he’s failed to follow up with me as promised, so I’m done with him. Too bad, because he did good work.

Anyhoo, maybe now you’ve got a farrier who does good work AND is reliable. Very often experiences like this work out for the best in the long run. Now if only I can find a competent and reliable plumber!

I am sitting over here impressed that you got decent communication from a farrier for any length of time .
