OMG - you’ve just described my daily wardrobe…
I never wanted a pair of zip-ups, but a friend of mine gave them to me, and they’ve been invaluable for the convienence factor, but I way prefer the lace-ups for riding.

Absolutely love my Dansko zip-ups! Way better than Ariats. Super comfortable and well-designed. I hate lacing boots, so it had to be zippers. I live in them for grooming at shows, daily riding, and barn work. They’ve held up great!
I have never had a problem with my Ariat Zips - they are the ones without the funny heel and I have had them for four years now. I have never had to replace the zipper or had any problems with it falling down - interesting!! I used to have lace-ups but my ankles are not very flexible and I found that these ariats are the only boots that allow me to ride comfortably and put my heel down to the level that my trainer requires!! I’m surprised that some of you have had such problems with the zippers - i would be super pissed considering how much you pay for them!!
Zipper broke on my Ariats the first time I put them on (Christmas gift from Mr. Wings!) I was able to return them for the lace ups, an even exchange and I love them!
And I honestly can’t way I prefer one over the other! I have the GP zip-up in French calf, never had problems with the zipper (watch, now that I said that, it’ll break tomorrow ) I did have to replace the laces on the Pytchley lace-up boots a few times…they were worn then eventually broke from rubbing against the bottom edge of Ariat half chaps.
LOVE my tie up Ariats, will never buy anything but So comfy and great support

Pull ons for sure. And, I believe they saved my life.
When I came to on the ground and felt that my left foot was cold, realized my boot was off, looked around for it and found it on the other side of the arena I was really really REALLY glad it had been pulled off. Being dragged by a terrified bucking 3 year old who had just dumped a rider for the first time probably wouldn’t have ended with my ability to still know what “boot” means.
Had Grand Prix zip ups, for last 4 years, they wore well. But stupid zippers would fall down to the top of my instep. Wasn’t bad while riding in half chaps or full, but when I walked around in jeans, the stupid leg would get caught in the boot top. Kind of a redneck look ya’ know?
Ditched those as the emergency barn boots, and got some Ariat lace ups. I love them!!! They aren’t as hard to get in and out of as I thought they would be. I keep the lace in the top hole all the time and just wind around the little studs. They also have been great around the wash rack too.

Dehner zip-ups are my absolute favorite.
I loved my Kroops zip-ups until they didn’t even last a year (elastic and sole) - still haven’t bothered to send them back to be repaird - was told it would run me about $90…
I live in my Ariat zip-ups! I have lace ones for when I break my ankle or foot and have to show in my Ariat half-chap and paddock boot on one leg, , but for regular wear - it’s the zip-ups! I also have the winter ones - love them!
I’ve never had any problems w/ wm Ariat Zips! I had one pair for 3 years, and the zipper NEVER broke or slipped down once. I had to get a new pair after the soles completely fell apart.
I have the Hexcel Devon Pro ones now, and they’re great! Plenty of ankle support, and the zippers are still holding up great after a year!

Lace-up Ariats! They’re my first pair of paddocks, and still going strong. Don’t want to try the zip-ups. They just don’t look like they’d be comfy, or stay up.
Pull-ons!
ZIP UPS
I love my Ariat gel zip ups but they just broke
Now I have to use my Ariat ropers lace ups and I hate them so much no matter what I do the laces keep coming undone
