Has anyone had a problem with these “anatomical” bridles that are supposed to be cut around the horses ears–actually not shaped correctly? I tried three different bridles like this on three different horses and none of the “cut outs” that were supposed to go around the horses ears, actually avoided the ears! They all curved back and touched the base of the ear. Maybe my horses are just broad across the crown area ( all three are TBs)
Anyway, I gave up and bought the one horse a plain Nunn Finer event bridle that is customized with a oversized browband as this is what he needs. In fact, I find most of the browbands out there are too short and cramp the ears so I am very careful with this.
I have one fussy OTTB that I am having trouble getting reschooled because he hates bits, chomps and fusses excessively and, so far, doesn’t like any hackamores I have tried on him. I have a chiropractor working on his neck and jaw area and am really working to teach him to give to pressure on his head but it is a slow go right now. I think he wants more padding on the hackamore so I am trying to modify one. I am intrigued by the Stephens Jumping Hackamore but it seems they are not available in the US so I am trying to figure out how I can get them.
Anyone have one of those? Where did you get it?
