Favorite Brands of Show Shirts

Wondered what show shirts other COTHers wear, like, and why?

I usually buy Hadfield’s show shirts. Although they are more $ the fabric is very good quality and the shirts seem to have more room though the chest. Also they have hidden buttons.

I have some shirts from OS Apparel, that have a similar fit and the hidden buttons.

I have the Beacon Hill show shirts. I like them but find they’re a little boxy (although this might be because I am small chested with wide shoulders.) I love that the collars are attached and have fun patterns on the inside. The fabric is cool and breaths nicely.

I like the Essex Classics Talent Yarn shirt, it’s super comfy.

The Beacon Hill shirt is advertized to have a more relaxed fit than other Essex shirts.

I will have to dig my show shirt out of the box, but I have one that I adore! I don’t remember how I got it. It fits relaxed and is very cool. It also has little mesh parts on the sides of the shirt and under the armpit area. It’s amaze-balls.

I need to look up the brand and find more like it once I start showing again.

The tredstep symphony long sleeve shirt. OMG I love it.

Am i the only rider in the USA who still wears shirts with chokers? I have a few that were really expensive, but are still in great shape! And i’m too cheap to not keep them just because of a new trend…plus i’ve seen the collars on the snap shut kind pop open. yuck

I have a Tailored Sportsman shirt that I really like, I find that the collar on it is a little less choking than my Essex shirts are. It’s also slightly roomier in the boobs without being super baggy.

I love the FITS shirts

Second the Tailored Sportsman shirts - I ended up buying two last years, after being sure that I was going to go RJ - the TS snap collars aren’t quite as pointy, fit my larger bust beautifully without gapping.

However, I also have to say that I LOVE my Ariat long sleeve show shirts! They are the ones that snap all the way down the front, and the sides and sleeves are made from mesh. I found one on clearance last year at Dover, and another at Equus Now, and they are really my go-to shirts, especially in hot weather - they layer beautifully under the more form-fitting coats, and are so cooling. i think they are called the Triumph shirts, and they are amazing. They just don’t have as many colors and pretty patterns as the TS, but I still love them.

I show jumpers, so I don’t get to wear them as often as I like - most days I’m in my Swing sun shirts by Bette and Court - show shirts I usually hold out for Sundays…

The RJ classic coolmax shirts definitely have more room and aren’t as pricy as some other brands. They have new snap collars that I really like.

I have the Winston in the Sydney style. I love it. Its very comfy and stretchy and has little elements that I think make it extra classy (the square buttons).

No, you’re not. I needed a white one and finally located one on e-bay in my size. There is little demand for them, but I prefer them.

Le Fash. Great fit and a very traditional look under a jacket if you get one with a white placket. They are so cool in the summer. I personally like the collar (which is high) and magnetic collar closure on them SO much more than the Essex snap collars. www.lefashny.com

I wear Tailored Sportsman Coolmax shirts with collars as well. I like them. I even wear them to work under a blazer from time to time. Without the collar, of course!

Another vote for Le Fash! SO stylish and so comfortable. I have a bigger bust and it stretches from the bamboo sides rather than the buttons. I love it!

I only wear Essex shirts. Love the new Talent Yarn and the one with the pearl buttons.

Another vote for the ariat shirt with the mesh panels!

Our daughter is long and slim, so a pilot friend of ours took one of her shirts over there to Hong Kong, with measurements for extra length in the arm and tail, and had them made up there. Beautiful fabrics, perfect.

I mentioned on another thread that I am really impressed with the Tredstep Symphony Futura Competition shirt. I really wanted an Essex or the like but unfortunately I have wide shoulders, crazy long arms and a slim, long torso so the ones that were even remotely long enough in the arms and torso were way too wide and baggy on me. The Tredstep shirt is long enough through the sleeves and seems like it will stay tucked in, plus it is so cool and lightweight.

And I am OBSESSED with the snap close buttons on the cuffs. Genius! No more one-handed fighting with buttons.
