Another happy customer with my Eponia bridle. Well made, nice ergonomic design, looks very high end for the price. As soon as I can justify needing to replace my double, I’ll be buying another!

Solo is a beautiful bridle for the price point. I could not stomach the cost of a European patent leather nose and bridle. Will it hold up like my Jerry’s bridle, no, but for a show bridle, it rocks.

Over the (many) years, I have to say my Dobert bridles were probably the best for long-lasting quality. My mare’s every day bridle is a Dobert, and it is about 6 years old and still going strong. I had another for my Morgan that I got 15 years ago, and I used it for YEARS on 3 different horses, before I gave it to a friend for her small headed horse. It still felt like a quality bridle.

Stubben is another that lasts and lasts and lasts. I am not in love with their design though - for horse comfort, they just haven’t kept up with ergonomic research.

I’ve had a Passier double, and it stretched out badly - I wouldn’t buy another based on that. The leather did not hold up well.

My mare has a Schockemohl double - it is relatively new (2 years old), so hard to say long term, but the fit is amazingly good and the quality is decent (I think at full price, I would have been unhappy, but for a $280 double bridle, it is fabulous). And I got it on clearance for half-price, so the value was good for what I paid (apparently cob sized doubles are not a big seller in Europe).

Another really nice quality bridle if you are willing to spend the $$$ is ADT (Arc de Triomph) - they are lovely quality, and made for horse comfort.

I agree with the comments about the Red Barn - plus they fit pretty funky - they are for a very LOOOOOONG faced horse. I had one for a huge mare I was riding for a while - she was an older style WB with a long face, and even on her, the bridle was adjusted as short as possible.

My pony is in an Albion - and it is a really nice bridle. I had to swap out the cheek pieces for smaller size, and they are not holding up as well (a different brand), so it is an interesting comparison to see how the two brands are holding up on the same day-to-day use. He’s been in it for almost 2 years now, and it still looks and feels great. And it is ergonomically well fit - he’s a sensitive little dude, and we’ve had no rubs, no loss of hair, no issues with it.

I actually greatly prefer my PS of Sweden Pioneer to my Passier Ingrid Klimke. The leather quality is nice and soft whereas I felt like the Passier never really broke in — especially the noseband. It has remained stiff despite regular conditioning. The only complaint I have of the PS of Sweden is the buckle on the “flash” part ends up in a weird spot on her lips. Oh and the optional throatlatch leather is practically plastic — very different from the rest. I also really like being able to buy different size pieces.

Another vote for Stubben. They are sturdy, beautiful and last forever.
