Favorite brushes for shedding?

Shedding flower makes slick n easy look like trash, granted this was on a regular coated pasture puff. $3.99 on Smartpak totally worth it for a shedding flower!

I own a grey yak. He is like a walking dandelion at the moment. If you are even close to him, you will be covered in grey hairs. This is the first year that he hasn’t been clipped at all, so he is in his full glory of LOTS OF LONG HAIR. Once the weather moderates a bit, I will give him a hunter clip. He sheds from late Feb until late April. Even with aggressive grooming. I’m too impatient and I have sheets/blankets that he can wear for the occasional cold blip in the weather.

Lol, mine too, he had a melt down in the barn aisle last week because he ā€˜forgot’ he is 13, has been clipped several times, and is not afraid. Trainer turned on the clippers to do his bridle path and feathers and he reared and slammed backwards into a horse minding his own business tied down the aisle. After idiot remembered that he can be trimmed while ground tied I went to check on the other horse. He was fine, but no longer all chestnut, one side was very grey looking. No chance of denying it if I wanted to, the evidence was clear.

I just tried the Oster Shedmonster. Really useful

I love the Eponas, but , for a brush I use a wonderful German brush that has some backwards bristles on it. That’s the only way I can explain it. I’ll take a look at it and see what it’s actually called because it is printed on the top but the thing is awesome for tearing hair right out.

Another for the hands on gloves! You would think my ottb is being tortured if I lightly touch his hindquarters with them. Meanwhile, my retired appendix melts with happiness when you attack her with both hands. Luckily, she’s the wooly mammouth this year!

I have yaks. So I use a vacuum first  The person who invented the ElectroGroom, whoever she is, is one of my heroes.

I’m always a little embarrassed to say it, but the shedding flower is my current favorite. I feel like a 6 year old, but the hair comes off so great. As said before, they do need to be replaced because they become dull, but they’re cheap so it’s not a huge burden. Glad there’s others out there rolling with the flower!
