Favorite stirrups (that won't break the bank) UPDATE! LOVE the Acavallos!

Dover allows you to return anything at any time for any reason! Found that out when my brand new Ariats had a crap zipper. I reached out to Ariat directly with no luck. I stopped by Dover for another reason, was chatting with the saleswoman, and mentioned my broken boots (which were in my car). She had me run out to get them, and she refunded them on the spot, even though I didn’t even have the receipt.

Anyways, if you needed to trial a couple pairs, I would definitely recommend Dover.

Thanks for the heads up!

WOW!

The Acavella Opera stirrups are a revelation

Thank you, Emily!!

I tried them first on my dressage saddle and holy cow; they put my leg in a MUCH better position for aiding, my feet were immediately more comfortable (I have REALLY effed up feet with no arches, bunions and hammertoes), and my toes were able to “flex” better; the stirrup cradled my foot and allowed me to keep my toes forward, effortlessly.

It had an immediate positive effect on my leg effectiveness.

I put them on my jump saddle on Sunday (it took me no time to get used to them, fortunately - they felt like “home” from the get-go), and it was amazing; leg felt more secure and stayed put with no effort. My foot was more relaxed and I could feel my toes, everything just stayed in place without tension. Not to say that my leg position is problematic, LOL, but these stirrups helped keep everything balanced without me having to think about it. My one issue is with my left leg: it tends to want to slide back a bit - in both saddles. I usually make a conscious effort to fix this but the stirrups made it simple to even things up, and it just FELT easier!

I give them two ENTHUSIASTIC thumbs up!!!

YAY!!!

I am so glad that you like them too!!!

Can you better explain how I was trying to express that the two arms aren’t connected and can act like a safety stirrup and open a bit???

It’s a bit hard to explain, I guess you really have to have them in your hands and look at them.

ETA: The tops of the stirrups are not connected to each other, they meet in the middle at the top ring (in two parts) which you slide the stirrup leather through and you have to “line them up” in order to slide the leather through, otherwise you can separate them.
