Usually studies get published somewhere, and most associations don’t have the financial capacity to fund studies.

There is a lack of large, premier events for horses aged 8 & up. With the Derby years being increased to 4-7 (previous 4-6), this will help increase that market. While there are no premier events for aged horses (WEG is only every 4 years and there is no reining in the Olympics), there is a large market for older horses in youth, non pro, and rookie/green events. We don’t throw them out just cause they get older. Many “aged out” horses are also moving into the ranch riding.
Don’t forget High Point from regional associations.
Many show in the regular classes at different levels to win those awards and trophies.
There older horses shine.
