Field Boots: I need help-nothing fits! Ideas?

Thanks, Renn! My customs are fully lined Dehners and are indestructable…but old fashioned. I bought them right at the beginning of the spanish top and should have gone that route. (or preferrably don’t have to wear them as they are my “fat” boots. Sigh. ) I also have some Ariat Crowne Pros that are okay…and a new pair of brown Ariat Challenge contours that I’m crossing my fingers don’t fall because they are right where they should be now…brand new.

I’m not tall, only 5’7", but apparently all my height is in my legs.

I am built the same way- 5’7" as well!

I hate to say this about your brrrrrrrown boots, but I wouldn’t ride in them too often… that line drops plenty. :frowning:

I have Ariat Crowne Pros (zipped) in Tall. I scooped these up on Ebay lightly used, and I currently wear them for everyday riding 2 times a week, as I have not been showing lately and will probably pick up a nicer pair once I am ready to show again. They dropped a lot but are still the perfect height for me.

I tried the Tredsteps and needed the tall height, but did not care for the fit on my full calves and just got a sense that the Ariats were more durable.

Have you seen the new Signature Granada field boot from Devon-Aire?
Unlike most other boots, it is actually made in Europe, of Italian calfskin. High end features but retails for about $450.

Yeah…I figured it might be an issue, but they will be for schooling only, so too short boots at home isn’t such a big deal. Beside, I alerady wear too short black boots for showing. My life has been full of too short boots.

What are everyone’s thoughts on De Niro v. Sergios? I’m thinking of getting something nicer off the rack/semi custom for Christmas…I have Tredstep Dontellos now in extra slim and they fit great but give me awful blisters if I stay in them too long! My barnmates all have the same problem with them too.[/QUOTE]

i tried both in my quest to find some that fit, and the Sergios fit better and are a lot more beautiful. I am petite but my legs aren’t that short with a slightly wider calf, and Sergio had the foot-calf-height that fit me best. I measured myself so I think that was part of my problem. I ordered from SmartPak and it was soo easy, only problem was I had to wait for ages for the boots to come since my size was one that they didn’t keep in stock.
