Since no one has mentioned it I would check out Five Star tack. Her bridles are currently on sale and she does offer the figure 8 in black. I just purchased a new bridle from her and comparatively speaking I prefer the quality of the leather on my new bridle over my Nunn Finers.

Just checked them out, they look really cool, I love the customizable options. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like they have a figure 8. :([/QUOTE]
Are these not what you’re looking for?

These are just the noseband… I need the whole bridle. I wonder if I could contact them about doing a build-your-own and adding the figure 8 noseband to it. Hmmm…

You should be able to add it to one the bridles. Like the bridle I bought was pictures with a standard noseband, but I got a crank. But you can buy all the pieces separately in the in the “bridle parts” section and build it that way. If I were you, I’d contact them and ask about it. They will be able to guide you to building your perfect bridle. Their customer service is great. I contacted them with a couple questions via email and got a response the next morning (their morning) at 8am! They are very prompt! And better than that, they accidentally sent my friend 2 bridles when she only ordered one. She contacted them and told them of the error (because karma and also because any other company would have charged her for the second if they realized the mistake) and their response? “Oh just keep it. Now you have a back up!” Never charged her a dime for it! How many other companies have you known to do such a thing?! I swear I don’t work for them, I’m just a very pleased customer. Lol
This is exactly why I’ve kept my black figure 8 even though I have no black saddles ATM. It’s SO hard to get nice black leather period, and to add the figure 8 on top of it really makes things challenging. Mine is to die for - it’s a KL Select and about 10 years old. It has rings - I really prefer the sliding nosebands. (Which are still made - just got one last summer from Hadfield, and it’s to die for). Good luck!
I love my Sabre figure 8 bridle, the leather is super high quality, and won’t completely break the bank with the price point.
I have owned both the Nunn Finer black Figure 8 and the Vespucci. I have the Vespucci now, because I wanted to get away from the big sheepskin disc and the non-monocrown. But, the NF was a lovely bridle that would las forever. The Vespucci is gorgeous, but it does run large (as many have pointed out in other threads). It is also a more refined bridle in its design.
My next bridles will all be purchased from Flexible Fit. The ability to assemble from all a variety of different sizes is fantastic.
Sent you a PM!
I just bought a Stubben with reins for $115 used. Perfect condition. Scour the used shops
