Final Results Freestyle to Music WEG

Nero, you are jumping to alot of conclusions about what I said. I did not, in any way, criticize Anky. Good God, why would I? She did her usual great job but I thought Matine was better than Salinero on the night. That is my opinion. No bashing there. I have never seen Matine go before, and was in absolute awe. She is a real star…though I do agree that tail is something else!

I do not know Sjef so can’t say “what he always looks like”. He looked displeased to me, even when her ride was over and he could have relaxed somewhat. I will take your word that he “always looks like that”. I thought Anky’s reaction looked forced. Perhaps she was just exhausted, who knows.

Before you crawl out of your skin at perceived criticisms, remember that everyone is not a born Anky-basher. But we are all allowed to make honest commentary here, that’s what BBs are for.

Now back to your regularly scheduled broadcasting…[/QUOTE] OK well I apologise for the tone if you felt I was being tetchy, but given the context of this board and people who often get really nasty about her I may have misinterpretted you comment about her reaction being forced, it sounded like a dig to me. If it wasn’t, great. We’ll agree to disagree about the result, I thought the artistry and accuracy and, compared to Matine, the relaxation of Salinero, meant Ankydeserved to win and I believe Matine truly deserved a fabulous second place, they were the two standouts in my mind too, so we probably agree more than we disagree about the standard of the dressage!!

Does anyone know, was it Sunrise Anky rode in the awards ceremony???

And mr mac, I think your comment was probably in worse taste than Anky’s website person ‘apparently’ claiming she was the world champion - which she is. There are two world champions, they both claim that title, I think you may be reading into something that isn’t there, especially when you understand the author of that site does not have English as a first language and you can’t really blame them if they write something that might sound clunky or potentailly inappropriate. Knowing how humble and generous Anky is, i.e. please read her interview on same website where she sings the praises of Isabel and says its god she didn’t win both golds, I think you are barking up the wrong tree to infer Anky is arrogant about this.

Funny

It’s so funny to read and watch all these interviews with the riders at the WEG which are bubbling to the surface now, and to see the differences with what people are telling over here.

Do you mind if I say that after watching the video’s over and over again that the RIDERS themselves are RIGHT.

I’m pretty sure it was not Sunrise, based on the trot. I’m guessing it was one of the police horses.

So Horsedances, what are they saying in the interviews ? Do you have clips?

You are 100% right. It was the Police horse who saved her earlier, So it was also ment as a tribute to this horse.

Yes I have everything on video 8 X 240 minutes VideoFilm and 4 X 4,7 GB DVD’s.

The WEG was broadcasted in 140 Countries from which 40 Countries had LIVE coverage.

Footage is still coming in every day.

Wow, that is really cool that she rode the police horse who helped her earlier! That would have been nice to see.

As for the WEG being broadcasted in 140 countries…all I know is I got nothing! 500 + channels on Direct TV and nada on WEG coverage. Apparently HorseTV is not one of my 500+ channels and they were the only ones covering it. :frowning:

From the DressageDirect Website

Media

  • TV channels broadcast the WEG in 140 countries, 40 nations do broadcast live
  • 1000 journalists and 300 photographers have received accreditation for the WEG 2006.
***

And… the USA was one of the few countries which had a team in all disciplines.

Start ringing the bells.

Good point, Sunrise too possibly would have ben too unpredictable for her. A police horse was a great idea for her. She rode Sal INTO the arena though I think, judging on still pics of the awards ceremony, gutsy in itself given her condition.
