That’s an excellent resource, BeverlyAStrausss - a GSD rescue that specializes in family temperaments. That’s a real value when we’re trying to sort out the sane ones.

Posted on Facebook today - Falls River Humane Society (Nebraska) has a beautiful white GSD puppy left behind when owners moved. She looks 4-5 months and has a great face. Check w/them or the Police Dept - they have her and it’s a $40 spay/neuter fee. She just needs a good home! So many like her are available.

Ok - rechecked for phone # 402-245-4422 (Police Dept) and it’s the Humane Society of Richardson County. This would make a great family pet!

Check out the Fidelco Guide Dog school in CT. They have some of the best bred GSDs in the country. Sometimes the adopt out dogs that are retiring or didnt make the cut as a guide dog. Very strict standards for adopting but totally worth looking at! http://www.fidelco.org/
Thanks for the resource. BTW, in their FAQs, #2
- Are the German Shepherd Dogs from American or German blood lines?
Fidelco dogs are from German blood lines.

German bloodlines.

http://www.heidislegacydogrescue.com/ - one more rescue, named for a rescued GSD and they rescue many as well.

Gorgeous adult male GSD turned in by owner at a Los Angeles high kill shelter – I would guess he is German bloodlines. Wish he were closer!

Here is some video of the male in jail in Los Angeles - hope he gets pulled, looks like a total sweetheart – Heidi’s Legacy has some too.

I will vouch for Fidelco as well. Excellent, excellent organization. I have known people who trained dogs for them and who fostered pups for them (to start the initial, basic basic level training).
